Sunday Service

Worship with us Sundays at 10:30 am!

At Great Oak you will find imperfect people who are real and caring. Just like you, we are doing this thing called life and it can be messy. But we have found hope in Jesus, and we want to share that with you!

If you have any questions please head over to our FAQ page for all the details!

New sermon series

Life Together explores how God's design for His Body goes beyond our culture's view of "church." Rather than an event we attend once or twice a month, church is designed to be a living, active community that invites us to truly know one another and be known. This series will challenge us, encourage us, and show us how to use our spiritual gifts while finding the deep friendships and authentic community our hearts long for.

You'll also discover the values that make Great Oak special as we explore what it truly means to be part of a church family.

4:12 student ministry

Through the  4:12 Student Ministry at Great Oak, we share the love of God, His plan, and His purpose. Teens attend and/or serve in the Worship service Sunday mornings at 10:30.

The youth meet Sunday nights from 5-6:30pm for Bible study, discussion, and games. Text YOUTH to 317-827-8701 to get updates.

Food pantry & clothing bank

We operate two food pantries and a clothing bank. The mobile food pantry operates out of the Mars Hill Arts Center on the 1st Monday of the month from 4:30-5:30pm.

The Great Oak Food Pantry & Clothing Bank is open every 1st Tuesday of the month from 11am-12:00 & 1st Wednesday of the month from 6:30-7:30 at 6341 Mann Road. Our Clothing Bank has gently used clothing for children and adults. You can visit one of our food pantry times once a month.

Church History

Great Oak Church was established in 1863 and formerly known as Mt.Pleasant Baptist Church or MPBC Indy.

Amidst changing times and a growing community, we embrace a new name - Great Oak Church - that reflects our steadfast roots, enduring strength, and welcoming spirit. We remain committed to our faith and mission, and look forward to continuing to serve our congregation and community with the same love and dedication as always.
